Grandma got addicted to the computer,
when she opened up her present, early Christmas eve.
You can say, "There's no such thing as Microsoft,"
But as for me and Grandpa, we believe.

When they found her Christmas mornin',
She was sitting at the scene of the crime.
There were keyboard prints upon her forehead,
Still she was typing there online.

She'd been sending out some emails,
to some people she didn't even know.
She had left her medication on the desk-
She complained that her connection was slow.

She looked wide-eyed and exhausted
while she kept typing with her hands.
And we knew that we had lost her
To the world, of  far-off lands.

Now  we're all so proud of Grandpa,
he's been takin' this so well.
See him in there watchin' football,
Drinkin' beer and playin' tunes for cousin Belle.

It's not Christmas without Grandma.
She is always in the back.
If we want to talk to grandma,
We must join her online chat.

Now the goose isn't on the table.
There's no goodies in the house.
'Cause the only cookies she's made
Are the ones done with her mouse.

Grandma has been busy,
scanning pictures to use on her webpage,
and we just can't help but wonder,
"Should we open gifts or just let them age?"

I've warned all my friends and neighbors, "
Watch out now,  before you buy;
You could lose your grandma
just as my dear grandpa did and I!"

Christmas is the season for kindling the fire of hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart.

Grandma got addicted to the computer
In 1895 Ralph Morris, an American telephonist, invented the electric Christmas lights similar to the ones we use today. The actual strings of lights had already been manufactured for use in telephone switchboards. Morris looked at the tiny bulbs and had the idea of using them on his tree.
